Keep 'Sconset Clean

On Your Own

  • ADOPT-A-ROAD to keep clean. Click here for details.
  • Pitch in by taking a bag with you whenever you go for a walk and pick up litter along the way.  (If you do it while jogging, it's called plogging!)
  • Leave the beach cleaner than you found it.
  • Dog walkers: please, scoop the poop! Yes, even at the beach! Bonus points if it's not from your own dog but left by somebody else.
  • Smokers: please, don't leave cigarette butts on the beach, the ground, or the road.
  • Always dispose of litter properly in your own garbage can or in a public one (see list below).

The 'Sconset Clean Team, organized and sponsored by the Siasconset Civic Association, is a group of volunteers dedicated to keeping Sconset's beach, roads, and parks free of litter.

The Clean Team meets at 8 am on scheduled days throughout the year (more often during the summer season), at various designated meeting points. Each clean-up day focuses on a different area.

Garbage bags, gloves, and a limited number of "grabbers" are supplied.

A small group of people can accomplish a lot if we all work together for even an hour.  We hope you'll join us!

Children are welcome. Children under 12, however, must be supervised by an accompanying parent or adult.

To be added to the Clean Team mailing list

Send an email to and indicate whether you would like to be on the mailing list for the summer months (June through September), the off-season months (October through May), or both.

Suggest an area for clean-up

If you notice an area of the village has a lot of litter, please let us know so we can organize a clean-up there.
