Due to the mandatory retirement age of 65 for all Massachusetts firefighters, five long-time volunteer  ‘Sconset firefighters retired at the end of December 2015:

Nelson (Snooky) Eldridge - 56 yrs of service
Gerald (Gerry) Eldridge - 54 yrs of service
Skip Vollans - 37 yrs of service
Robert (Rob) Benchley, III - 25 yrs of service
Carol Moffitt - 25 yrs of service

In gratitude for their many years of dedicated service, the Civic Association presented them with plaques and honored them at the July 2016 general meeting.
